Ear Gear is a new product for children and adults. It is designed to prevent hearing aids, FM’s and Cochlear Processors from getting lost and to protect them from dirt, sweat, rain, and chafing. We designed Ear Gear for our daughter Shameera (see our story) ,who like many children had difficulty keeping her hearing aids on.
Keeping Hearing Instruments Secure and Protected
Children’s hearing aids are a little smaller than adult models but most children still find them difficult to wear, especially in the case of infants, toddlers, and children with developmental delays. Children are notorious for taking their hearing instruments off, especially when they get their first pair. There is an adjustment period, during which children become accustomed to a new “audio” environment. Ear Gear encases their hearing aid. If your children’s hearing instruments fall off , or if they take them off, Ear Gear with cord and clip ensures that your children’s hearing instruments are securely attached to their clothing and are easy to find. Ear Gear without cord or clip will protect them from the elements. Hearing aids can cause chaffing. Ear Gear is made from a soft spandex material that makes hearing instruments more comfortable to wear.

Traditionally, hearing instruments were a flesh tone, and designed to be as unobtrusive as possible; however, today, hearing instruments, like glasses, are becoming a fashion accessory. Hearing instruments come in a selection of colored outer cases, and you can attach brightly colored ear molds. Ear Gear comes in a range of stylish patterns and colors that allow self-expression.
Active Lifestyle
Hearing instruments with an FM attachment are not designed for active lifestyles. Most children only wear their FM unit in the classroom. Many parents remove their children’s hearing instruments when they are involved in active play such as running, jumping, hiking or a favorite sport like soccer, baseball or hockey. Ear Gear keeps hearing instruments in place and protect them from sweat, rain, and dirt. All Ear Gear models are water resistant and allow children to participate more easily in all these activities.
Ear Gear Original
Ear Gear Original, fits hearing instruments from 1.25 to 2 inches . It is the model of Ear Gear that we developed for our daughter Shameera. Ear Gear Original is available with a cord and clip if loss of the hearing instruments is a major concern; and it available without a cord and clip for those users who mainly need protection from dirt, rain, sweat, or chafing.
 Ear Gear FM
Ear Gear FM is a variation of Ear Gear Original.Ear Gear FM is an inch longer than the original Ear Gear. Ear Gear FM fits hearing aids from 2 to 3 inches and will also accommodate a hearing aid with an FM boot. Ear Gear FM helps to keep FM units securely attached to children’s hearing aids. Ear Gear FM also significantly improves the appearance of the hearing aid FM combination. Ear Gear FM is available with cord and clip and without.
 Ear Gear Mini
Due to the growing use of open fit hearing aids Ear Gear Mini was developed. Ear Gear Mini, fits hearing aids up to 1.25 inches and provides a measure of security during athletic activities, and protection against damage from sweat and moisture.Due to the large variety of the new smaller aids,Ear Gear Mini is made in 3 different models, Triangle, Curved and Square. All models are available in corded, cordless, and mono models.
 Ear Gear Cochlear
The use of Cochlear Implant ear-level BTE processors has increased dramatically in the past few years, for both children and adults. Due to the large size of the processor, there can be issues of loss and irritation to the ear for the Cochlear Implant user. Ear Gear Cochlear was designed to fit various models of processors from 2 to 3 inches from both manufacturers Cochlear Americas and Advanced Bionics. It is available in models with cord, as well as cordless and mono models.
